This paper presents an experimental characterization of human locomotion by a cable-based measuring system, namely CATRASYS, which has been designed and built at LARM (Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics). With CATRASYS, trajectories of the human limb extremity and its orien-tation have been characterized by lab tests during walking. Forces that are exerted by a limb of the ex-perimental subject against cable sensors have been measured as well. Based on experimental results, modelling and characterization of the walking gait has been proposed in this paper.

Abstract
This paper presents an experimental characterization of human locomotion by a cable-based measuring system, namely CATRASYS, which has been designed and built at LARM (Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics). With CATRASYS, trajectories of the human limb extremity and its orien-tation have been characterized by lab tests during walking. Forces that are exerted by a limb of the ex-perimental subject against cable sensors have been measured as well. Based on experimental results, modelling and characterization of the walking gait has been proposed in this paper.File in questo prodotto:
