The purpose of this investigation is to investigate and deepen the existence of a relationship between the management of occupational stress factors and the personal dimension of self-efficacy in the school environment, understood as the individual's ability to master specific activities inherent to one's psychological and social functioning. The study of this relationship starts from an analysis of the research conducted to date in the national and international spheres on occupational stress, focusing specifically on the role of motivation and emotion management in the work environment and, in particular, on the construct introduced by Albert Bandura of self-efficacy. The correlation between self-efficacy, work-related stress/burnout and school context (climate) will be verified through the results of the present survey conducted, between the end of 2021 and 2022 at a national level, on teachers belonging to the various school institutions, by means of the compilation of a battery of tests (119 items-selected for the research) administered through the Google Forms platform. The contribution we wish to make to the reference literature is to examine these phenomena during a period of National pandemic emergency, so as to be able to verify how 'pandemic' stress has affected the school context. The aim of this research is to analyse, at a National level, the phenomenon of teachers' occupational stress, so as to be able to have a more detailed picture of the situation, especially at a time when the pandemic (covid-19) strongly affected the whole Italian school system.
