The present disclosure relates to radio network communication. In one of its aspects, the disclosure presented herein concerns a method in a first network node for pilot re-assignment in a distributed MIMO communications system, which comprises at least two network nodes, have a number of uplink pilot sequences and serves a number of UEs. Each UE is assigned an uplink pilot sequence. The method comprises identifying at least one first uplink pilot sequence for at least one of the UEs served by the first network node to be proposed for pilot re-assignment and transmitting, to at least one second network node, a message comprising the identified at least one first uplink pilot sequence. Thereafter the method comprises receiving, from said second network node, a message comprising information related to the proposed pilot re-assignment and performing, in dependence of the received message, the pilot re-assignment by re-assigning said at least one first uplink pilot sequence.
