This brief essay intends to introduce a branch of study, developed on the side of one more extensive research concerning the identifiable territory with the middle and the lower valley of the river Liri in South of Lazio. We intend to briefly illustrate the methodological approach and the purposes of a work just undertaken, whose assumptions, if properly verified, besides constituting a significant deepening for the mother research, will also allow a different reading regarding the location of some residential settlements in the territory in question. The starting hypothesis is based on the possible existence of an in view communication network, through luminous signals – made, specifically, by reflecting mirrors or nocturnal fireworks – and that is inspired bythe testimony of some elderly monks of the Benedictine Abbey in Farfa in the North of Rome.
