First and full commentary of a particularly worthful urban sepulchral inscription for a couple of freedmen, dated ca. 100-75 b.C., provided with a bas-relief between two tituli for a lanius and his wife, followed by two elegiac epigrams, both for her, but the former uttered by the still living man, the letter by the dead woman. Each sentence or clause or even word is carefully inspected in comparison with literary and epigraphic tradition and according to their respective requirements. It appears very noteworthy the linguistic and metric skill and the rhetoric and poetic cleverness and originality of the author
