The traditional approach to the valorization of Cultural Heritage (CH) is based on the substantial separation between the stage of recovery/restoration/conservation (RRC) and the stage of enjoyment by end-users of the output of the RCC activities. This separation may result in significant losses of efficiency and the lack of enhancement of CH enjoyment opportunities that require upstream interventions. This scenario calls for a different methodological and operational approach based on the adoption of the concept of the value chain for the analysis of the technological and entrepreneurial opportunity in the valorization of CH. This approach is based on a wider reliance on processes of entrepreneurial discovery for the identification of market opportunities and of the related technological requirements and constraints. In this paper, we describe how we designed and simulated the entrepreneurial discovery process by involving university students and graduates.
