Complex system consist of many subsystems, which are developed concurrently and sometimes independently. It would be too late to validate the system reliability until the final system prototype is ready after months or years of development. From a project management point of view, the reliability for each subsystem or subfunction should be examined as early as possible. Therefore, allocating a reasonable reliability requirement to each subsystem and subfunction based on the system reliability requirement is very important. The C.F.M. is an upgrade of “Integrated Factors Method” (I.F.M.). IFM method has been developed only for serial configurations. The proposed method can be used for complex system with serial and parallel configurations.

Abstract
The present work analyses, in literature, the main reliability allocation techniques. Starting from the known methodologies, a new reliability allocation method has been developed: Critical Flow Method (C.F.M.). In literature, there isn’t a universal technique, correct for every system and every design state; so the research of the correct methodology for the observed system is a task of R.A.M.S. analysis. Starting from the analysis of the literature methodologies, a new reliability allocation method has been developed: Critical Flow Method (C.F.M.). The C.F.M. is an upgrade of “Integrated Factors Method” (I.F.M.). IFM method has been developed only for serial configurations. The proposed method can be used for complex system with serial and parallel configurations.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
