Abstract

As known, brownfields represent urban “voids” and above all a source of degradation. The European Union is showing great interest in the recovery of these areas as an important factor for the improvement of the indices of environmental sustainability. The complexity of these architectural/urban sites requires a survey able to simplify their “reading” and to provide guidelines on the environmentally sound recovery. The case study shown hereafter concerns the Liri Valley and the survey of a mill located in Ceprano town (Italy) with a waterwheel inside which is recovered for the production of green energy.
