It is possible to identify a "unity" and "continuity" in the collection of short stories by Joyce, "Dubliners". This paper tries to trace an evolution of themes and characters with reference to the musical allusions contained in the single stories; music itself is functional to the various epiphanies and its significance increases along with the evolution of the characters.
