This book examines the strategies, opportunities and risks of offshoring in Central and Eastern Europe Countries (CEECs). First, this book describes the process of transition to a market economy in CEECs and the resulting opportunities for (Italian) firms. Second, it provides a theoretical framework for analysing the SMEs’ internationalization of operations. Particular attention is paid to offshoring strategies of Italian SMEs in those markets, given the significance of such phenomenon and the still limited availability of in-depth studies.
