The article presents the results of a research based, from a theoretical point of view, on the relation between the body and town planning. The applicative field concerns a study based on interviews and observations about the projects of participative planning of active environments. The research compares several European case studies including those involving adolescents and young people, much rarer than the ones involving children. A body facilitating environment can play a crucial role in the promotion of active lifestyles and the role of physical education and sport educators should comprise, in an interdisciplinary perspective, this field of knowledge evolving from experts in exercise delivery to proposers of life enhancing experiences through physical activity.
