Abstract

Recently the global economic scenario has undergone radical changes. Phenomena such as globalization and development of new markets have, on one hand, enabled the emergence of an increasing competitiveness, on the other hand, the opportunity to improve business performance through a policy of relocation of production systems. The attention on optimal management of production systems has increased, thus the control of production with local control of the coordination of an entire chain of production and distribution (Supply Chain Management). The principal aim of an ordering policy is to maintain the production and demand very close and keep the stock and production capacity at minimum acceptable levels to reduce and control the so-called Bullwhip Effect. To understand how different factors contribute to the smooth functioning of the system we have developed a simulation and multi-criteria model based on the Analityc Network Process with which we can analyze the criticality throughout the process and then analyze the various trends in orders and inventories right from the initial phase to the end.
