University campuses are ideal environments for promoting sustainable urban mobility. However, the adoption of active and electric micromobility faces socio-demographic and behavioral barriers. This study investigates and compares the propensity of a university community to adopt e-bikes, e-scooters, and traditional bicycles as alternatives to private cars. Based on a travel survey conducted at the University of Cassino (Italy), three Ordered Logit models have been calibrated, characterized by a McFadden/Pseudo R2 of 0.0947, 0.1118, 0.1039. Explanatory variables include socio-demographics, university status, attendance, and current travel habits. Results show that off-campus students exhibit the highest propensity to adopt all three modes, whereas habitual car drivers reveal some resistances. A significant gender gap emerges, with females less likely to adopt micromobility, particularly traditional bicycles. Comparing the transport modes, e-bikes prove to be the most inclusive option: they overcome the physical fatigue barrier for extra-urban commuters and the age barrier (>45 years) that significantly limits e-scooter and traditional bike usage. Conversely, e-scooters show strong potential for last-mile connectivity among combined public transit users.
