The paper analyses the European Union's multilevel legislation on sustainable development. The author will pay attention to the ratio of the New Green Deal and the EU classification of sustainable activities. the contribution will highlight that the European regulation tending to ethical environmental demands aims at balancing the needs of technological and economic development unstoppable and uncontainable with respect for the value of human person in this existential-environmental degradation. In view of this perspective, the author intends to reconstruct the hendiadys of sustainable development as a verbal synthesis of plurality of the principles identifying the European constitutional system.
