The educator in his ethical dimension has moral responsibility for the pedagogical choices he adopts for himself, for others and for society. This work intends to retrace some of the important stages in the history of the figure of the socio-pedagogical educator up to the present day. The interest is aimed at investigating the central dimension that animates the work of this care professional, who proves decisive in the fabric of contemporary society, which increasingly delves into the emergency complexity linked to the profound crisis of values and new educational challenges. We also want to highlight the fundamental contribution that this professional can offer in different educational contexts, revealing the wonderful opportunities that hide behind what to date, unfortunately, is still an extremely underestimated figure.
