An algorithm suitable for on-line estimation of motor speed and parameters is presented in the paper. It allows the simultaneous estimation of two motor parameters or, alternatively, of the speed and of one parameter. In the latter case speed sensorless control is made feasible. The algorithm is based on a full order flux observer and on the analytical relation which links the error on the stator current to the differences between the actual and the observed values of speed and motor parameters. The results obtained by means of a numerical simulation fully confirm the validity of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract
