Abstract

Living at the “centre” of the world is a condition perceived by different communities as necessary to produce their own history. It means, as anthropological literature has pointed out, living in a protected life regime, in a culturally ordered cosmos, everything else being chaos, a "dangerous world". There are many myths in different cultures that describe this condition of safety in which men try to live. A centre of the world built in a defined space, “appaesato” for millennia by the work of man, the producer of culture, which we have stopped frequenting because of the pandemic, and this has produced a feeling of loss and a 'crisis of presence' in us
