the aim of the thesis is to investigate linguistic contact between old italian (i.e. old tuscan) and the varieties spoken and written in medieval england during the reign of the three Edwards. Through the analysis of anglo-italian commercial document it has been possible to trace all the early loanwords that old italian speakers brought back to the italian peninsula with them.
