In this work, we study the foundations of mathematics in the sense of seeing how the problem of its possible self-foundation, or its possible completeness, has been addressed, noting that the answer is negative. This aspect is, in projection, also connected to that one of proving or not the “existence of God” as well as to possible consequences in the application aspects, even in finance. This using the paradigms of logic and along a historical excursus that shows how literature has evolved in this context.
