The Author examines the issue of remote control of workers’ activities at the light of the impact of innovations introduced by ‘Industry 4.0’ technologies. In particular, the paper focuses on new technologies and digital transformation programmes implemented by big corporations of the major industrial sectors. The aim is to verify whether and to what extent new digital devices are consistent with the employees’ right to privacy, dignity and confidentiality, as it is guaranteed by the Italian legal system.
