Abstract

In a digital network in which existing and new applications communicate with each other, the digitalization of metrology acquires ever greater importance for the exchange of measurement values. This paper specifies a harmonized, universal, coherent machine-readable metadata model for the exchange of digital complex measurement values following the specifications of the International System of Units. Conventions for the evaluation and expression of measurement uncertainty are based on the internationally recognized Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement.
