A novel method for near-field antenna measurement from a reduced set of electromagnetic samples is proposed. The identification of the field radiated by the antenna under test (AUT) is recast as the search in a proper set that is built starting from the union of subsets, forming a dictionary of over- complete bases. Each subset is related to a specific uncertainty potentially affecting the AUT and is derived from a suitably designed ensemble of examples. The search in the dictionary is done by means of the Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm. The proposed technique is particularly suitable for fast antenna qualification thanks to the small amount of required near-field data. Numerical and experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the method.
