KEY POINTS -This work is aimed at giving a contribution in the comprehension of granular fast flows, a subject of interest in fluvial hydraulics, risk management and many engineering applications. - An ad-hoc campaign of small-scale experiments of dry granular flows produced by dam breaks has been performed in the Laboratory of Water Engineering (LIA) at University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy. - Results are here presented and discussed, also in comparison, with a satisfactory agreement, against the simulated ones obtained by the numerical integration of a depth-integrated two-phase model.

Abstract
KEY POINTS -This work is aimed at giving a contribution in the comprehension of granular fast flows, a subject of interest in fluvial hydraulics, risk management and many engineering applications. - An ad-hoc campaign of small-scale experiments of dry granular flows produced by dam breaks has been performed in the Laboratory of Water Engineering (LIA) at University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy. - Results are here presented and discussed, also in comparison, with a satisfactory agreement, against the simulated ones obtained by the numerical integration of a depth-integrated two-phase model.File in questo prodotto:
