Close examination and full commentary of the inscriptions in the former place of the Scipiones' vault, that is especially the saturnian eulogies, with all their issues: chronology, versification and lay-out, exegesis, language, relationship with literary production, ideology. A proposal is also put forward, that almost the oldest eulogies were composed originally to be displaid under the respective masks in the atrium of their domus.
