Inverse electromagnetic problems often involve linear operators with almost finite rank. The aim of this contribution is to introduce a method able to estimate the linear operator also in presence of not complete knowledge of the operator itself using the ‘matrix completion’ approach developed in computer science and signal processing. A simple example regarding free-space radiation operator is discussed in order to clarify the method.

Abstract
