Development of door-to-door rubbish collection appears to be of remarkable importance in terms of sustainable development as it contributes towards a reduction in expenditure in natural resources and emissions into the environment due to traditional waste disposal methods (eg. dumps). The critical factors for the development of this method of collection refer to two kinds of problems that are both closely connected: technical-logistic and management related. This thought lies at the basis of the present case-study whose objective is to analyse the door-to-door rubbish collection process in the Municipality of San Donato Valcomino, by creating a comparison with the previous system to highlight the very best environmental, social and economic performance compared with the current one.

Abstract
Development of door-to-door rubbish collection appears to be of remarkable importance in terms of sustainable development as it contributes towards a reduction in expenditure in natural resources and emissions into the environment due to traditional waste disposal methods (eg. dumps). The critical factors for the development of this method of collection refer to two kinds of problems that are both closely connected: technical-logistic and management related. This thought lies at the basis of the present case-study whose objective is to analyse the door-to-door rubbish collection process in the Municipality of San Donato Valcomino, by creating a comparison with the previous system to highlight the very best environmental, social and economic performance compared with the current one.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
