In this paper the finite element based Artificial Compressibility (AC) Characteristic-Based Split (CBS) algorithm is applied, for the first time, to the heat and mass transfer in porous media with associated phase change in a single physical domain. The procedure can be used for the resolution of problems characterized by the coexistence of a two-phase zone and single-phase regions with irregular and moving phase interfaces in between. The obtained results have been compared with the numerical data available in the scientific literature.

Abstract
In this paper the finite element based Artificial Compressibility (AC) Characteristic-Based Split (CBS) algorithm is applied, for the first time, to the heat and mass transfer in porous media with associated phase change in a single physical domain. The procedure can be used for the resolution of problems characterized by the coexistence of a two-phase zone and single-phase regions with irregular and moving phase interfaces in between. The obtained results have been compared with the numerical data available in the scientific literature.File in questo prodotto:
