The purpose of this paper is to verify if an innovative service offered by a medium-sized bank and strongly rooted in the territory, has generated benefits in favor of the reference context and in particular of innovative start-ups, whose initiatives have been considered deserving of funding, by gatekeepers charged for their selection. In particular, the evaluation will focus on the verification of the relationship between economic and financial results generated by funded projects and the variables related to the process of disbursement of micro-credit provided for in the model of the Banca Popolare del Cassinate (BPC). To achieve this goal, a review of the international literature on the importance of innovative services for business growth, and in particular start-ups that often suffer from a limited allocation of financial resources for their survival will be initially performed. Later the results generated by the companies that got benefits from the funds allocated by BPC in favor of the project “First Idea” will be analyzed. On the basis of these requirements, the research approach is based on the qualitative method implemented using the multi-method approach for the collection of data whose validation is performed with the triangulation method.
