In this presentation, a general transmission line model will be given, which can be regarded as a common frame where conventional and carbon-based interconnects may be analyzed and compared. This model, although retaining the same simplicity of any TL model, is accurate enough to catch all those nanoscale phenomena which are of interest for the guided propagation, as for instance the quantistic and inertial effects related to the collective motion of the conduction electrons.

Abstract

In this presentation, a general transmission line model will be given, which can be regarded as a common frame where conventional and carbon-based interconnects may be analyzed and compared. This model, although retaining the same simplicity of any TL model, is accurate enough to catch all those nanoscale phenomena which are of interest for the guided propagation, as for instance the quantistic and inertial effects related to the collective motion of the conduction electrons.
