The meta-source of sustainable competitive advantage can be traced back to the coherence between strategy alignment and the resources the business model of the company actually relies on, which form the Strategic Capital. From this perspective, the role of intangible - knowledge-based - resources is crucial. Nevertheless, its analytical review and the detection of the correlated value components that drive it, hardly find unbiased solutions because of the limits of the traditional only-qualitative approaches. The purpose of this paper is to introduce and test on a comparative case-study a flexible qualitative/quantitative procedure to overcome such specific issues. This is done via the audit of the building factors composing the knowledge-based resources involved in the firm-specific dynamics of value-creation. Eventually returning key-indicators that can be used for benchmarking.
