This study provides an example of qualitative analysis of a literary text conducted through the theoretical and methodological means of the Psychology of Art and Literature. The approach adopted for the analysis of the text follows the type of interpretation of the founder of the Psychology of Art and Literature in Italy with Senior Professor Antonio Fusco of the University of Cassino. Aim of this study is to analyze the psychological determinants in the tragedy Hippolytus and in particular the motivations underlying the behavior of the characters.
