The uncertainty crosses the whole enterprise, involving all decision, from production planning, supplying, to the location of new plants and to the marketing as a whole. As such, it becomes of strategic importance and relevant to the governing body, whose activities, therefore, must be taken into account. More precisely, between the uncertainty and the activities of top management, it configures as a bi-directional report, since most of the decisions affect the uncertainty as well as the same uncertainty affects decisions, directing the choices toward some strategic actions rather than others. Given these assumptions, the paper analyzes the uncertainty in its financial dimension that, in some ways, it also represents the most critical part. In fact, it is within the complex dynamics of the cash flows that uncertainty acquires the features of element that can displace the company from its objectives.. In this perspective, the work processes some specific measures of uncertainty , which provides an example of application, using the Mediobanca sample.
