In this paper, following Peirce’s examination of the problem, I shall treat Aristo- tle’s syllogistics according to the rules of modern logic. In particular I shall show that two syllogisms (Darapti and Felapton) are not acceptable according to these principles. Finally, I shall show some very general properties of syllogistics that could be very helpful for build- ing a general theory of inferences.

Abstract
In this paper, following Peirce’s examination of the problem, I shall treat Aristo- tle’s syllogistics according to the rules of modern logic. In particular I shall show that two syllogisms (Darapti and Felapton) are not acceptable according to these principles. Finally, I shall show some very general properties of syllogistics that could be very helpful for build- ing a general theory of inferences.File in questo prodotto:
