In this paper the non-linear responses of three and six storeys concentric braced frames (CBFs) designed according to different seismic codes are illustrated. Particularly, with the purpose of studying the influence of the structural model and of the material behaviour on the non-linear response of braces, different geometrical models and material properties have been adopted in the static inelastic analyses. In all examined cases, the buckling behaviour of the compressed members has been modelled through the "plastic hinge approach". The results of the analyses indicate the strong dependence of the performances of buildings designed according to capacity design approach, on the adopted structural model and on material constitutive law. Contrarily, in the cases where the capacity design approach is not applied, the ultimate behaviour does not depend on these modelling options.

Abstract
Contrarily, in the cases where the capacity design approach is not applied, the ultimate behaviour does not depend on these modelling options.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
