A MIMO channel sounder that does not require phase measurements is proposed. The system is based on parasitic an- tennas, with a single active element connected to a low expensive amplitude only receiver and a proper phase retrieval algorithm whose computation burden is compatible with today personal com- puters. Numerical simulations confirm the effectiveness of the approach.

Abstract: | A MIMO channel sounder that does not require phase measurements is proposed. The system is based on parasitic an- tennas, with a single active element connected to a low expensive amplitude only receiver and a proper phase retrieval algorithm whose computation burden is compatible with today personal com- puters.
