This paper examines a direct thrust-force control scheme for a two-phase tubular linear brushless permanent-magnet actuator (TLBLPMA) with the aim of revealing its dynamic response and performance. Simulation and experimental results for the direct thrust-controlled TLBLPMA drive system are fully presented and discussed.
