The period between 1861 and 1881 is extremely important for the history of the city of Rome. This article examines a subject that has not been fully analyzed, i.e. the impact of this historical period on the financial activity of the Town Hall. In fact, in the sphere of municipal finances happened a huge change, which was reflected on the economic and social system of a territory extended well beyond the municipal boundaries.
