The aim is to provide a new conceptual scaffold for further research in biology and cognition (included psychology and neuroscience). We need to take more into account the developing and developed organism as a system able to control and modify its surrounding environment. The organism is here considered as a cybernetic system able to integrate a processor as a source of variety (the genetic system), a system for keeping its homeostasis and therefore for regulating the exchanges with the environment (the metabolic system) and a selecting system able to collect then relevant information and select the appropriate actions (the cognitive or information-selective system properly).

Abstract
