Fluid-structure interaction is an important topic for modeling water hammer pressure surges in piping systems. This becomes more complex in branched pipes. In fact in this case it is not possible to describe water hammer effects without an accurate estimate of the transmission and reflection coefficients in pipes junctions. In the present study it is presented an experimental research devoted to the extimation of transmission and reflection coefficients in a viscoelastic pipe junction. The work was realized in the “Laboratorio di Ingegneria delle Acque” (LIA) of University of Cassino. In particular the comparison between transient pressures recorded in different constrain conditions of the pipes system are presented. Furthermore, an estimate of the transmission coefficient to the junction is reported and some conclusions are drawn.

Abstract
Furthermore, an estimate of the transmission coefficient to the junction is reported and some conclusions are drawn.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
