In this paper, a detailed analysis on EMI effect of power converters is performed. The aim is to study the influence of electromagnetic disturbances on power converter control circuits, in order to optimize their layout and to avoid accidental control failures due to EMI. The approach is fully experimental. By means of several test performed in a anechoic chamber, the control circuit immunity has been fully investigated. As power circuit, which is the main EMI source, a simple structure DC/DC converter with MOSFET devices has been considered, and the internal compatibility with the control circuit has been verified. In this way, the so called “electromagnetic self-compatibility” analysis of the converter has been deeply investigated.

Abstract
In this paper, a detailed analysis on EMI effect of power converters is performed. The aim is to study the influence of electromagnetic disturbances on power converter control circuits, in order to optimize their layout and to avoid accidental control failures due to EMI. The approach is fully experimental. By means of several test performed in a anechoic chamber, the control circuit immunity has been fully investigated. As power circuit, which is the main EMI source, a simple structure DC/DC converter with MOSFET devices has been considered, and the internal compatibility with the control circuit has been verified. In this way, the so called “electromagnetic self-compatibility” analysis of the converter has been deeply investigated.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
