Introduction The experiences of prevention in matter of up to now conduct drug addictions in our Country have often on the emotional and moral aspect of the problem, while the information is nearly always absent on the mechanisms of action of drugs. The C.R.D.C.S. has realized one exhibition on the drugs: "ALTER EGO. Drug and brain". Aim of this study To inform scientifically on the mechanisms of action of drugs, to estimate the acquaintance of the boys on the interaction between drugs and brain, to inquire on the consumption of drugs. Methods and materials To prepare an exhibition that uses techniques of communication to transferring the information in direct way. Has been selected a random sample of 1404 students of the advanced schools and has given out a test to multiple choice before the visit. Results Preliminary surveying has evidenced of the deep differences between the geographic areas considered relatively to the acquaintances and the personal use of the drugs, with the students of Center-Italy who turn out more inform and those to you of the north that is the greater drug contractors, regarding the coeval of the Center-south. Emerged E' that the substances mainly used are the cannabinoidi. Ecstasy and the alcol difficultly is considered from the true students and own drugs. Conclusions ALTER EGO has been received with great enthusiasm is from the Agencies in which it has been proposed is from teaching and the students been involved, revealing one useful instrument of spread of the scientific acquaintances on the interaction between drugs and brain. The elevated degree of participation of the schools to the exhibition has confirmed the validity of the visit to ALTER EGO. Its impact on the behavioural aspects of the students in relation to the modification of the acquaintances and the consumption of the drugs is currently appraisal object.
