This article presents the first phase of a broader project examining the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain in education. A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA protocol, analysing literature indexed in Google Scholar between 2018 and 2025. From 798 records, 103 studies met the inclusion criteria. The review shows a rapidly expanding field that is beginning to consolidate its methods and conceptual boundaries. Findings highlight three main trends: the use of AI and Blockchain to support adaptive and immersive learning environments; the development of distributed credentialing systems, including micro-credentials and self-sovereign identity; and growing attention to ethical, governance and transparency issues.

Abstract
This article presents the first phase of a broader project examining the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain in education. A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA protocol, analysing literature indexed in Google Scholar between 2018 and 2025. From 798 records, 103 studies met the inclusion criteria. The review shows a rapidly expanding field that is beginning to consolidate its methods and conceptual boundaries. Findings highlight three main trends: the use of AI and Blockchain to support adaptive and immersive learning environments; the development of distributed credentialing systems, including micro-credentials and self-sovereign identity; and growing attention to ethical, governance and transparency issues.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
