Parameter determination of synchronous generators is necessary for power system analysis and also for control system regulation. Load angle estimation of synchronous generators needs a rotor position sensor that is challenging to implement is real power plants. In first step, this paper introduces an indirect integral calculation method to estimate the load angle without any rotor position sensor. In second step, this paper introduces a procedure to determine steady state reactance of synchronous generator considering the core saturation effect using known load angle value from first step. The main advantage of this method is that it is sensor-less and does not need the generator to disconnect from network and the test is done when the generator is synchronized. In addition, the proposed method estimates the unsaturated and saturated values of reactance on both d and q axis. The proposed method is evaluated by FE simulation of a 255MW synchronous generator.
