This article sketches one of many trajectories of the process that leads Floire and Blancheflor through the early stages of the Romance as a literary genre, from the so-called “aristocratic” version of Floire et Blancheflor to an interesting passage in Jaufre's Provençal novel and Boccaccio's Filocolo. These stages of their literary fortune highlight three different types of relevance in respect to the parameters of the genre. The first and the second make it possible to appraise the shift from an exemplary reference to latin classic literature to another that already benchmarks others romances. The third shows one of the possible forms of parallelism between the story the author is actually telling and his own autobiographical narrative. This evolutionary path based on exemplary references shows that and how the Romance evolves as an autonomous, independent and self-sufficient genre since its early stages.

Abstract
This evolutionary path based on exemplary references shows that and how the Romance evolves as an autonomous, independent and self-sufficient genre since its early stages.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
