Abstract
In general, in sport science, it is possible to differentiate sporting movement based on environmental and task requirements. In sport where the movement technique is crucial, like gymnastic or diving, technical skills, biomechanics, and physiology patterns play an important role in the performance analysis. Obviously, the sex distinction in the major determinant in athletic performance though the impact of height, weight, body fat, muscle mass, aerobic and anaerobic capacity. Regarding diving, men and women athletes have very similar body morphologies. Other important pattern that plays an important role in athlete’s physical and mental development and obviously in their competitive performance, is aging. It is generally believed that endurance athletes can reach their peak performance at a much older age than those who participate in explosive or sprint events. Also, acrobatic sports, such as gymnastic or diving, are considered an early specialization sports in which specific training is necessary for develop complex movement, motor skills, and achieve future excellence. Knowing the age of maximum performance in elite sport could be advantageous for coaches in guiding long-term training plans and evaluating an athlete's progress towards their performance goals. In the end, to develop a young athlete into a talented elite athlete the training individualization and a good knowledge of their athletes become essential.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
