The paper focuses on some issues related to mandatory vaccination, ranging among public health interests and individual rights in the light of the principle of solidarity. In this perspective, the public debate concerning Covid-19 mandatory vaccination policies is analysed based on the balance between the individual right to self-determination and the coexistent rights and needs of the whole society of health care. The purpose of this paper is to highlight how solidarity calls for responsibility towards the others and in particular the vulnerable people, who are mostly exposed to the harmful effects of contagion.
