Le croci di un editore: alcuni problemi di critica testuale nel De orthographia dello Ps. Capro

La tradizione delle operette ortografiche dello Ps. Capro e di Agrecio è formata da un cospicuo numero di manoscritti altomedievali, cui se ne aggiungono molti altri italiani di epoca umanistica derivanti da un unico modello. Le grandi linee della tradizione sono ricostruibili, ma essa appare contaminata già in epoca altomedievale. Alcuni lemmi compresi nel De orthographia dello Ps. Capro presentano termini greci, che non sembrano glosse successive ma inserimenti del compilatore, che appare come un maestro che operava in un contesto scolastico grecofono e che potrebbe essere lo stesso redattore dell'operetta. The orthographical treatises of Ps. Caper and Agroecius consist in a relevant number of early Middle Ages manuscripts, together with other written in Italy in the XV century, all coming om a common source. The manuscript transmission of these works is now outlined, and it shows symptoms of contamination in its early stage. Some entries of Ps. Caper's De orthographia contain Greek terms, which are not later glosses but were probably inserted by the compiler himself, who was perhaps a teacher of Greek speaking pupils, to be possibly identified with the author of the work.
