The invention refers to an axial-flux electric machine with one stator (S) and two independent permanent magnets rotors (R1) and (R2) for hybrid electric vehicle propulsion. Applications include, but are not limited to: land vehicles, aircrafts and ships. The first rotor (R1) is driven by the internal combustion engine. Said first rotor (R1) produces electric energy with the part of the stator winding (I) facing towards the same first rotor (R1). The second rotor (R2) with the part of the stator winding (I) facing towards the same second rotor (R2) either drives the vehicle wheels, propeller, turbine or recovers the vehicle’s kinetic energy. The said kinetic energy is transformed into electric energy, facilitating in this way a 4-quadrant operation of the vehicle’s traction system. The operation of the two rotors is managed by one inverter that supplies the stator windings. The integrated electric drive system, according to the invention, is composed by two mobile parts (R1) and (R2) which are the permanent magnet rotors with surface permanent magnets, designed with the possibility to rotate independently one against the other and the fixed part represented by the casing (C) in which is fixed the stator (S) with the windings (I), in such way that each rotor constitutes a separate machine with a stator winding side, the electric machine being an axial air gap one built with one single stator and two separate rotors.
