In this work we introduce a novel two-stage procedure for target detection in radar systems: a traditional radar detector, operating on a scan-by-scan basis, provides a list of candidate detections (or plots) to a second stage, which jointly elaborates the lists corresponding to multiple scans for plot validation. A new algorithm, which exploits the sparse nature of the preprocessed input data and performs a scan-by-scan along-track integration, is proposed for plot validation. A complexity analysis is offered, and numerical examples are given to show the merits of the proposed architecture.

Abstract
In this work we introduce a novel two-stage procedure for target detection in radar systems: a traditional radar detector, operating on a scan-by-scan basis, provides a list of candidate detections (or plots) to a second stage, which jointly elaborates the lists corresponding to multiple scans for plot validation. A new algorithm, which exploits the sparse nature of the preprocessed input data and performs a scan-by-scan along-track integration, is proposed for plot validation. A complexity analysis is offered, and numerical examples are given to show the merits of the proposed architecture.File in questo prodotto:
