Abstract

Three fundamental forms of semiotic process (reference, addressing, and intentionality) are presented and their relations with language explained. Thereafter, the fundamental inference forms (formal deduction, induction, and abduction) are presented and their connections with semiosis shown. Finally, we show some important differences between semiois and inference and see information processing as a dynamical attractor of inference.
